春行くや空に無数の目を残し

spring fades
leaving behind countless eyes
in the sky


あの世でもこの世でもなく雲の峰
anoyodemo konoyodemonaku kumonomine

cloud peaks
neither the world beyond
nor this present world


戦乱の遺伝子を嗣ぎ雛笑ふ
senranno idenshiwotsugi hinawarafu

the smile of a doll
whose genes have inherited
the chaos of war

Haiku 5 - Hina are dolls that girls put up on March 3rd for the Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival).



Kitaōji Tsubasa (北大路翼) is a haiku poet from Yokohama, Japan. His published works include his 2015 book Tenshi no yodare (天使の涎 Angel slaver, published by邑書林 Youshorin), featuring about 2000 haikus.
